Congratulations on your new pet! Obedience training with your pet is a great way to get off on the right foot with one another. It sets you and your pet up for success with basic obedience and manners, and can strengthen your bond with your pet.
If your pet was adopted with a mandatory obedience requirement, you paid a deposit* to the CT Humane Society at the time of your adoption.
You should enroll your pet in a positive reinforcement training class with a trainer, or at a training facility of your choice. Once you have completed your training class, you can submit a Training Deposit Refund Request to CT Humane Society to have your deposit returned.
*Note: Pet Education and Therapy will no longer be offering classes. If you received a Pre-Paid Training Certificate for Pet Education and Therapy at the time of your adoption, your pre-paid training is now considered a deposit and the information above applies to you.
