Valentine’s Day is a perfect reminder that everyone deserves to feel the joy of love—and no one believed that more than Ed.
Not long ago, this tiny chihuahua was wandering the streets, alone and searching for kindness. When a local animal control officer picked him up, Ed’s tail wagged non-stop, overjoyed to finally be noticed and cared for. While some chihuahuas can be selective with their affection, Ed had a different philosophy: love was meant to be shared with everyone.
But even with his unleashed affection, he struggled to find a home. He wasn’t getting much interest from potential adopters at animal control, so he was brought to CHS.
Only a few weeks off the streets, Ed arrived with a thin frame, patchy skin, and a heart that was anything but weary. No matter how “ruff” his past had been, he was convinced that every person and pet he met was capable of kindness. His kisses were nonstop—whether it was for the medical team treating his skin, animal care staff bringing his delicious meals, the volunteers taking him on walks, or the families stopping by to meet him. His love knew no limits, and it didn’t take long for someone to fall just as hard for him.
When a family met Ed and realized they couldn’t leave without him, his dream for a home of his own came true. Now, he’s right where he belongs—with a home full of love and two small dog siblings who match his affection every day.
This season, let Ed be your reminder: love is best when shared, and showing you care can be as simple as a tail wag—or, if you don’t have a tail, a kind smile, a warm hug, or an act of compassion.
