Did you know that Pinky is a purebred? Purebred GOOD GIRL! She is energetic, loving, smart and so very happy. Pinky has become a CHS staff and volunteer favorite. She is the best office dog, she is a great hiker, she loves to cuddle, she goes to training class and she even helps her nervous dog friends come out of their shells. To make it even better Pinky has the best ears around! Read on to see what Pinky has been up to since she arrived at CHS!

October 12th, 2022
Pinky arrives at CHS on October 12th from Florida. She’d already been in a shelter when Hurricane Ian struck the state, and in an effort to make space for pets displaced during the storm, CHS in partnership with the Bissell Pet Foundation transferred her to Connecticut for a fresh start.

October 14th, 2022
Pinky passes the medical team’s exam with flying colors, but will need to be spayed. She is placed on the surgery list for her spay surgery here at CHS.

October 18th, 2022
She then meets the behavior team, who gives her an assessment to help with her future successful placement. Because Pinky doesn’t have all her manners yet, the behavior team at CHS decides to work with her before she is made available for adoption.

October 26th, 2022
Pinky gets her spay surgery, and once she’s on the mend, she’s made available for adoption.

November 17th, 2022
Pinky is still with CHS awaiting adoption. She is featured on NBC’s pet of the week segment.

November 23rd, 2022
Since Pinky is still waiting for a home, she is made available for foster, and goes to a volunteer’s home to spend some time outside of the shelter. Here she discovers that pajamas are THE BEST.

December 2022 – Present
Back at the shelter, Pinky fills her days by going on various excursions for field trips with staff and volunteers, and enjoys her time playing dress up, meeting new pets, new people, and exploring new places!
