Thank you for your service and dedication. Military service can present unique challenges, especially when it comes to caring for your furry companions. Below are some valuable resources available to veterans and deployed service members to ensure your pets are well-cared for during times of need.

PACT for Animals

PACT for Animals provides peace of mind for service members who are deploying or entering treatment programs by offering foster care for their pets. The program supports pets for up to two years, ensuring they are in loving homes while their owners are away.

      • Pet owners must maintain financial responsibility for their pets’ care.
      • Owners must be financially stable to qualify for the program.

Guardian Angels for Soldier’s Pet (GASP)

Guardian Angels for Soldier’s Pet supports veterans and deployed service members by providing foster care for their pets.

To qualify for the foster home program, your situation must involve either:

      • Deployment (combat, peacekeeping or humanitarian mission) OR
      • Inpatient medical issue AND/OR
      • Homeless situation impacting your quality of life.

Dogs on Deployment

Dogs on Deployment is a robust program that helps service members find foster homes for their pets, and they assist with finding financial grants where applicable. Dogs on Deployment promotes responsible, life-long pet ownership by military pet owners by advocating for military pet owner rights, providing educational resources and granting financial assistance for military pet owners during times of emergency.

The Connecticut Humane Society is exploring additional partnerships with external organizations to better support our veterans and their pets.
