Calling artists who want to use their creativity to support local pets by joining Connecticut Humane Society’s Kindred Spirits: Art for Pet Companions. This online silent auction will be held Thursday, September 26–30, 2025, and celebrates the powerful connection between people and animals. Submissions will raise critical funds for pets in need, supporting shelter, food, veterinary care, and programs that keep pets with the families who love them.
Connecticut-based artists are invited to submit up to 6 original pieces of visual art or donate pet-themed creative services. Accepted mediums include painting, drawing, printmaking, ceramics, photography, mixed media, fiber art, woodworking, metal, and glass. Services may include custom pet portraits, commissioned pieces, or artistic pet workshops.
Artwork and services should reflect one or more of the following themes:
• Pet–Human Bond – Celebrate the love and companionship between people and their pets
• Senior Pets – Honor the dignity and resilience of aging pets
• Rescue Stories – Illustrate hope and transformation in adopted animals
• Animals in Nature – Highlight animals in natural or outdoor settings
Artists will gain visibility, connect with a statewide audience of animal lovers, and use their talent to make a difference for pets across Connecticut. To be considered, artists should complete the submission form. Each entry should include:
• An artist statement for each piece or service
• A short artist bio (under 150 words)
