Desk Assistants

Open Shifts:
Mondays 12:00PM-3:00PM, 3:00PM-5:30PM
Tuesdays 12:00PM-3:00PM. 3:00PM-5:30PM
Thursdays 12:00PM-3:00PM, 3:00PM-5:30PM
Fridays 12:00PM-3:00PM, 3:00PM-5:30PM

The Westport adoption center is looking for friendly volunteers with excellent customer service skills to assist at the front desk.  Desk volunteers greet customers, answer basic questions about the adoption process and utilize the animal database to look up and record information.

Requirements: 18+, have active health insurance, comfortable working around all types of animals, able to work independently with limited supervision, able to follow verbal and written instructions and effectively communicate with staff, other volunteers and the public. Excellent customer service, computer, and phone skills.

Commitment: 2-3 hours per week on a set-schedule for at least 6 months

Critter Cuddlers

Open Shifts:
Sundays 9:30AM-11:30AM
Mondays 9:30AM-11:30AM
Wednesdays 9:30AM-11:30AM

Looking for some critter love in your life? The Westport adoption center is looking for experienced critter owners to spend time socializing and playing with the small animals (rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, mice, rats, etc.) Some cleaning may be involved. Safety training is provided.

Requirements: 18+, have active health insurance, comfortable working around all types of small animals, be in good physical condition, able to work independently with limited supervision, able to follow verbal and written instructions and effectively communicate with staff, other volunteers and the public.

Commitment: 2 hours per week on a set-schedule for at least 6 months
