From the moment Celeste and her litter arrived at the Connecticut Humane Society, it felt like the universe had a plan.

Celeste, a five-year-old Alaskan Husky, came to CHS with her six wide-eyed puppies when their family could no longer afford the care needed for a growing gaggle of pups. The team at CHS knew what to do: give these little stars the space, medical care, and support needed to thrive. Celeste was spayed and settled into a quiet place to relax, while her puppies—about 2 months old—headed to foster homes where they could safely play, learn, and grow.

Huskies are intelligent, social, and full of energy. They do best with structure, training, and families who understand their need for enrichment and connection. Finding the right matches takes intention and time, and that thoughtful approach paid off. Between foster homes, gentle guidance from CHS teams, and plenty of positive socialization with staff and volunteers, each puppy experienced a puppyhood that set them up for success. Later, Lobo, the puppies’ father and a friendly three-year-old husky, joined CHS as well. With support from the behavior team to polish his manners, he was soon ready for his own next chapter.

As the stars would have it, these pups didn’t wait long for their people. One by one, they headed home—tails wagging, paws flying—into families ready for the joyful chaos only a husky puppy can bring. Two of Celeste’s pups, Nova and Maverick, were clearly destined for something extra bright. On Sunday, February 8th, 2026 at 2pm ET, they’ll take their place on the big screen in the Puppy Bowl, proudly representing the Connecticut Humane Society and proving that sometimes, a little stardom really is written in the stars.

Celeste’s journey came full circle, too. Sweet, gentle, and eager to please, she found a loving home perfectly suited to her calm, affectionate nature—proof that she could be a wonderful match even for a first-time dog guardian. This Valentine’s season, Celeste and her pups are reminders that love shows up in many forms: in foster homes, in training sessions, in medical care, and in the patience it takes to find the right fit. These pets and all their friends at CHS are sending lots of love to their paw-some supporters!
