Race for Pets, Mystic
Sunday, 5/17
CHS is partnering with the Hartford Marathon Foundation’s Race for Good initiative, and the pets will be the beneficiaries of the proceeds from the Mystic Half Marathon and 10K taking place the morning of Sunday, 5/17. 25 volunteers will be needed early that morning to direct runners, pass out water and assist with parking. You can also sign up to run or walk and fundraise. This is going to be a really fun opportunity! Please note that the Hartford Marathon Foundation is handling sign ups for this event. Requirements: 18+, be in good physical condition, able to work independently with limited supervision, able to follow verbal and written instructions.

Commitment: This is just a one-day commitment!

Ambassadors
The Waterford adoption center is looking for reliable, outgoing, friendly volunteers with excellent customer service skills to join the Ambassador team. Trained Ambassadors represent CHS in the community at fun events like pet fairs, expos and farmers markets. They share information with the public about the organization’s programs and services, pet care, and companion animal welfare.  Apply to Volunteer for this position.

Requirements:  18+, have active health insurance, able to work independently, able to stand for up to two hours and lift and carry up to 40 lbs., must be able to follow verbal and written instructions and communicate effectively with staff, other volunteers and the public. Excellent customer service skills.

Commitment: 2-3 events per quarter (Spring/Summer/Fall). Event shifts are 3-4 hours.

Open Shifts:
As needed. Most events take place weekday evenings and weekends during the day.
