Clinic Services
Wellness Examinations
An annual exam is an essential preventative tool for your pet. Scheduled by appointment, this is an opportunity for pet owners to discuss questions and concerns with the veterinarian. Vaccinations and other necessary treatments are also available during the visit.
Parasite Control
The Clinic has all of the diagnostics and treatments necessary to keep your pet free from both internal and external parasites. Visit the Parasites article to learn why treatment and prevention are so important for your pet’s overall health.
Microchips
One in three pets goes missing during its lifetime. A microchip is another method of ID that links your pet back to you and increases your chances of reuniting with your pet if it is lost. It is the size of a grain of rice and is inserted between your dog’s shoulder blades with a simple injection. Veterinary hospitals and shelters have scanners that can read these chips, should your pet become lost and separated from his collar and tags.
Vaccine Clinics
In addition to full exams, low-fee vaccination clinics are available to protect pets from common, yet potentially harmful, diseases. Appointments are required; walk-ins are not accepted. Click here for additional information.
Surgical Services
Surgical services are available on a limited basis, with priority given to treating medical issues. Spay/neuter surgeries are currently available on a limited basis to existing clients only.
Radiology
X-rays are an important diagnostic tool used to look inside your pet’s body. The in-house equipment provides quick results and is safe for your pet. Radiology is performed by qualified staff technicians.
Laboratory Services
Fox Memorial Clinic has an in-house blood machine and microscopy services to provide a broad array of immediate results when necessary. Affiliation with a major off-site laboratory provides pets and their families’ access to an expanded range of services.
Compassionate Euthanasia
It is extremely difficult to say good-bye to a beloved pet. Veterinary professionals will help you with “end-of-life” decisions by providing you with the compassion and information required to make the choice that is right for you and your pet.

Clinic FAQs
I had to leave a message. When will you call me back?
As a result of the high demand for affordable veterinary services in our community, Fox Memorial Cinic experiences a high volume of phone calls and voicemails. The staff is dedicated to addressing as many inquiries as possible, but we recognize that it can be challenging to reach FMC by phone. To better serve clients and their pets, FMC is working on expanding options. In the meantime, please don’t hesitate to email infofoxclinic@cthumane.org. The phone number is 800-452-0114. The fax number is 860-665-1241. Thank you for your understanding and patience.
Do you offer emergency services?
No, Fox Memorial Clinic does not offer emergency veterinary services. The clinic specializes in routine wellness care for pets. In the event of an emergency, it’s best to bring your pet to a full-service 24-hour emergency hospital where immediate care can be provided. Please note that our clinic is closed at night and on weekends.

Are you accepting new patients?
Fox Memorial Clinic is currently accepting new patients in need of medical attention. FMC is not currently accepting new patients for routine wellness. However, the clinic is actively working towards expanding the veterinary team and hopes to be able to accommodate new patients in the near future.
Do you work on a "sliding scale"?
No. Fox Memorial Clinic operates on a reduced-fee model to provide affordable care to those in financial need. As a result, clinic fees are typically 20-30% lower than other veterinary hospitals in the area. Fees are not determined on an individual’s income.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Fox Memorial Clinic accepts cash and all major credit cards (Visa, MC, Discover, AMEX). Personal checks are NOT accepted. Fox works with all clients to find the most affordable treatment plans for their pets.
Does the reduced price affect the quality of services?
Fox Memorial Clinic prides itself on providing exceptional veterinary services and is staffed by experienced veterinarians, highly qualified veterinary technicians, and friendly customer service personnel. The reduced-fee services are made possible through generous donations, which allow FMC to maintain the same level of quality care for your pet without any compromise.
Why do you require a deposit for some appointments?
At Fox Memorial Clinic, a deposit is collected at the time of booking for new clients, clients booking appointments for multiple pets, or for clients who have missed a prior appointment or cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice. This deposit is used to reserve your appointment spot and is applied toward your bill at the time of your appointment. With so many pets and families in need of veterinary services, the deposit policy helps to ensure that appointment slots are not left unfilled. It also serves as a communication tool for clients to give notice if they are unable to make their appointment so the slot can be offered to another pet in need.
What about pet health insurance?
Pet health insurance is a growing trend and may become an important aspect of your pet’s care. Whether you are on a budget or not, you should research the various plans and choose the right one for your needs.
What should I bring to the clinic with my pet?
For the safety of all pets and people, pets are required to be properly restrained during their visit. Dogs must be leashed, and cats must be in a secure pet carrier. To ensure that your pet receives the best possible care, please bring a valid rabies certificate and any previous medical records and vaccination schedules with you to your appointment. This will avoid repeating any unnecessary diagnostics or vaccinations and enable the veterinarians to provide a more accurate diagnosis of your pet’s needs. Not only will this save you money, but it will also allow your pet to get the best care.
What is your policy on cancellations and missed appointments?
Cancellation Policy
Please provide at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Appointments canceled or rescheduled after this time period will be considered a last-minute cancellation and will require a deposit for your next appointment.
Missed Appointment Policy
Please arrive on time for your appointment. If you arrive after your scheduled start time, your pet may not be able to be seen, and it will be considered a missed appointment. You will be asked to reschedule and a deposit will be required for your next appointment.
Note: If you previously left a deposit for your appointment and miss/cancel/reschedule with less than 48 hours’ notice, that deposit will be charged as a missed appointment fee.
I made an appointment. What’s next?
A few days prior to your appointment, the Fox Memorial Clinic will call you to confirm your visit. You will need to confirm your appointment. If you do not respond to the request to confirm at least 24 hours before your appointment, your appointment may be canceled and you will forfeit any deposit or pre-payment, so other patients who are waiting can be assisted.
You may also be contacted to complete some forms before your appointment. If you receive e-mails or text messages from the Fox Memorial Clinic, please make sure to read the message, open the attachments, and complete all requested paperwork at least 24 hours before the day of your appointment.
Can I refill my pet's prescriptions at your clinic?
Requesting Prescription Refills
If your pet is a regular patient of the Fox Memorial Clinic, you can request a refill of your pet’s prescriptions by calling the dedicated prescription line. This will allow you to get through the phone system quickly and speak to a staff member who can help you with your request. A staff member will return your call within 24 hours. To request a prescription refill, please call 860-594-4500, ext. 6404.

What if I want to fill my prescription at an outside pharmacy?
Pet owners may want to purchase their pet medications from online pharmacies for convenience or cost savings. In those cases, Fox Memorial Clinic will provide a written prescription for your pet that you can use at any pharmacy of your choice, including online pharmacies.
However, please note that not all online pharmacies are created equal. Some may sell counterfeit or expired medications that can be harmful to your pet’s health. The Fox Memorial Clinic cannot guarantee the safety or reliability of any online pharmacy other than Fox Memorial Clinic’s online pharmacy.
Pet owners are strongly encouraged to use the Fox Memorial Clinic’s online pharmacy to ensure that you are getting safe and reliable medications that have been approved by Fox Memorial Clinic veterinarians.
Will Fox Memorial Clinic fill a prescription from an outside veterinarian?
Federal Law prohibits the dispensing of prescription medications without a client-patient relationship, and the clinic does not have an outside pharmacy license, and therefore, cannot fill prescription requests from other facilities. If you are not an existing client or you have not brought your pet for an exam within the last year, please call to make an appointment before requesting any medications for your pet.
