The Connecticut Humane Society is excited to welcome two new team members who are already making a meaningful impact as preparations ramp up for the highly anticipated Grand Opening Celebration this August. With their talent, enthusiasm, and dedication to the mission, both are playing vital roles in bringing the final phase of the campaign to life.

Jarred Barnes joins the team as Major Gifts Strategist, bringing with him a strong background in donor engagement and nonprofit leadership. Jarred has built deep community ties—connections that are now proving invaluable. As the Grand Opening approaches, Jarred is working closely with local businesses and organizations to keep the celebration rooted in the Wilton community. He is also partnering with Barbara Naugle and Kayleigh Shettleworth to ensure campaign donors, volunteers, and longtime supporters are recognized and appreciated throughout this exciting milestone. His thoughtful approach to stewardship is helping build lasting relationships that will carry CHS’ mission well into the future.

Kylie Allardice, the new Development Events Intern, is stepping into a critical role this summer. With strong organizational skills and a love for animals, Kylie is taking the lead on many behind-the-scenes details that will make the Grand Opening run smoothly. A graduating senior at Quinnipiac University, Kylie will receive her B.S. in Psychology this May before spending her summer with CHS. Working closely with Kayleigh, Kylie is helping manage event logistics, coordinate vendors, and represent CHS at community events like the Wilton Farmers’ Market. Her energy and support are ensuring that the Grand Opening doesn’t just mark the completion of a building—it becomes a heartfelt celebration of the community that made it all possible.

As the big day approaches, the entire team is filled with excitement and anticipation. After years of visioning, planning, and building, the time is nearly here to open the doors and welcome the community into a space designed with compassion, connection, and care at its core. The Grand Opening will be more than just a ribbon—or leash—cutting. It will be a celebration of what’s possible when a community comes together to create something lasting.

Together, Jarred, Kylie, and the entire development team are guiding the vision for the new facility into its final chapter. Their work will be instrumental in making the Grand Opening a moment of gratitude, joy, and new beginnings. Please join CHS in giving Jarred and Kylie a warm welcome!
