I had to leave a message. When will you call me back?

Due to significant need in the community, Fox Memorial Clinic is an extremely busy clinic. The staff works diligently to answer as many calls and return as many voicemails as possible. To better serve pets and their families, Fox will be adding more email options in the near future. The phone number is 800-452-0114. The fax number is 860-665-1241.

Does Fox Memorial Clinic offer emergency services?

NO, Fox Memorial Clinic is a routine wellness clinic. If your pet needs emergency care, it’s best to bring him or her to a full-service 24-hour emergency hospital, as Fox does not always have a veterinarian available.  Fox will always do its best to see any urgent care situation that comes through the doors. Fox is closed at night and on the weekends. Visit this link for a list of local emergency hospitals.

My friend told me you work on a "sliding scale." Is this true?

NO. In order to offer reduced-fee care to those in financial need, clinic fees are generally 20-30% lower than what can be found at other veterinary hospitals. Fees are not based on an individual’s income. There are several Connecticut Humane Society programs that offer further discounts to clients: low-cost vaccine clinics, low-cost heartworm clinics and the Pet Food Pantry.  Visit the links for additional details about each program and to find out if you are eligible.

What forms of payment do you accept, or do you offer a payment plan?

Fox Memorial Clinic accepts CASH and all major credit cards (Visa, MC, Discover, AMEX, Apple Pay and Google Wallet). Personal checks are NOT accepted. Because fees are discounted, Fox is unable to offer payment plans. Fox will work with all clients to find the most affordable treatment plans for their pets.

Is the quality of your services reflected in the price?

NO. Fox Memorial Clinic is staffed with excellent, experienced veterinarians, highly qualified veterinary technicians and courteous customer service personnel. Because of the generosity of supporters, Fox receives donations and grants that allow these reduced-fee services to be offered without affecting your pet’s care.

What about pet health insurance?

Pet health insurance is a growing trend and may become an important aspect of your pet’s care.  Whether you are on a budget or not, you should research the various plans and choose the right one for your needs.

Can I get my pet spayed or neutered at Fox? If so, what is the cost?

Fox Memorial Clinic is not scheduling spay/neuter surgeries at this time.

I have never been to the Fox Memorial Clinic before. Are you accepting new patients?

Yes, the clinic staff works very hard to see as many patients as possible each day. Fox Memorial Clinic understands the need in the community and welcomes all new patients. Please keep in mind this wellness clinic is not an emergency facility. Should your pet have an urgent medical issue, please seek out an emergency facility.

What should I bring to the clinic with my pet?

All pets must be restrained. For example, dogs should be leashed, and cats should be in a pet carrier. Upon scheduling your appointment, you will be asked to bring a valid rabies certificate and any previous medical records and vaccination schedules that you may have. This will help you save more money by not repeating diagnostics and vaccinations that have already been performed, and will help the veterinarian to better diagnose your pet’s needs.

Can I refill my pet's prescriptions at your clinic?

If your pet is a regular patient of the clinic, you may request a refill of your pet’s prescriptions. There is a dedicated phone extension to request refills. This will enable you to get through the phone system quickly.  A staff member will return your call within 24 hours.  Access the prescription line by calling 860-594-4500, ext. 6404. Or, you can fill out your prescription request online here. Federal Law prohibits the dispensing of prescription medications without a client-patient relationship, and the clinic does not have an outside pharmacy license, and therefore, cannot fill prescription requests from other facilities.  If you are not an existing client or you have not brought your pet in recently, please call to make an appointment.
